Fatigue due to fear, boredom, anxiety
and more!

The
technicalities of
Fatigue
Scientists
have spent many years searching for a clue to the technicalities
of fatigue. Exhaustive studies are now being carried out in
America
at the Harvard Fatigue Laboratory.
This
is what the Harvard lab finally concludes that physical fatigue has a root of a
complex sequence of chemical reactions.
Researchers
established that if the human body is to accomplish a heavy work load without
overtiredness, complete harmonization of muscle movements with breathing and
circulation is required. The
muscles depend on glycogen, the energy-generating material which converts
into sugars, for their power to feel diminished. But, after extended muscular
exertion, the so-called "fatigue agents" —lactic
acid, carbon dioxide and other by-products—percolate into the blood-flow. So
severe is the chemical effect that injections of the blood of a fatigued person
into a relaxed person can produce fatigue.
Metabolism
and Fatigue
Metabolism
is
the chemical process responsible for the construction of new cells, the
destruction of old one and the metabolism releases energy in the body. The rate
of release of energy is the key for the body to recoup during bouts of stress
and the subsequent period of stress. Metabolism in the body is regulated by the
endocrine glands as their chief function.
When
a person is extremely tired, the adrenalin glands withdraw the output of
adrenalin hormones for some time, almost to the point of stagnation. However,
endocrine studies also give details the system of "the second wind,"
that unexpected surge of muscular energy is available for the body under stress.
This increase of energy is caused by the action of the nervous system on
the adrenal
glands. Suddenly adrenalin is released into the tired person's blood.
Adrenalin
will relieve strain in five minutes or less, What rest will do after an hour or
more. The increased efficiency of the second wind is temporary and the production
of adrenalin to take care of a fatigue emergency cannot be substituted
indefinitely for normal rest and sleep.
Weight
and Fatigue
A
person having normal weight can walk for long than an obese. obesity is
frequently a deterrent to intensive physical work. Overweight patients manage to
do one to three hours of work on treadmills, in other walking type activities.
But they are dog-tired for the rest of the lay. They lie down, nap or rest a lot
in their chairs.
The
obese people just cannot take fatigue as well as lean individuals. Obese persons
lack the willpower to lose weight, they often have no willpower to meet
themselves. Their work capability is crystal-clearly low."
Fear of failure and Fatigue
Some
accomplished people feel motivational fatigue. Even though they are gifted with
talents and skills, they sometimes lack
courage and patience. A report on chronically tired business executives in their
mid life prepared at one hospital. These men had been full of motivation, go
getters, determined to reach the pinnacle. But somewhere along the way they had
lost their drive, and enticement at work. All of them were completely
discouraged and fearfully tired. Most of them, the doctors found, are held by
fear of failure
than by pride of past accomplishments. What they lacked was a healthy
motivation—the stimulus that would help them to fight exhaustion and do
their best work to achieve more.
Boredom and Fatigue
Boredom
is another cause of fatigue. People find any incentive in their work when they
are bored. Out of 50 persons who feel chronically fatigue, a careful examination
rules out physical illness in most of them. For all of them the work won’t be
too hard to accomplish and they feel the current job can be accomplished with in
5 hours out of 8 hour shift. These people are not facing economic worries
either, and sure of what happens to them is no different that what happens to
all during tough periods like recession.
In
fact, these people are not tired at all. They are just bored. They need a
revival of true interest in life through purposeful activity.
Anxiety
and fatigue:
On
December 21st 2008, there was a massive pulse polio drive in
India
. It was a government driven program to administer oral polio vaccine for around
30 million kids below 5 orally. It was conducted in all the cities and villages
up to hamlets in
India
with care and before a rumor broke out in a news channel that a few small kids
who were administered polio drops died in one of the small towns in
India
. That news spread like a fire in whole of south
India
and parents of small kids became so anxious and rushed to hospitals and health
care centers to make sure their kids have no symptoms of vaccine related
problem. The whole health care machinery worked through out the night to check
the babies and counsel their parents to prove the program had no ill effect on
many children who were administered with OPV in the previous day.
The
next day instead of kids falling ill, their parents were so exhausted and felt
fatigue due to anxiety and could not attend their work!
Write down Your Goal in life—and Set your tempo
So
feeling Fatigue is not in the body. It is an invisible parasite that has entered
your brain that only requires a thorough flush out.
How to deal with fatigue
1.
Write down on paper the things you want most from life:
What
is your goal for personal happiness?
Be sure of Goals for professional or business success.
2.
Calculate the amount of energy required for achieving these goals. Most of them
will need only a small effort; others will demand all the energy you have—and
perhaps a little more than you think you have.
Fatigue can never be as bad as we think. It can become danger as a life
threatening disease if you don’t address it properly. This modern parasite
once flushed out of brain; we can get back to our capacities which got reduced
temporarily.
